Posted in Repair Blog - Written by Grant Philipps on May 12, 2021Some of the latest Windows updates are causing Windows 10 to blue screen when you send a print job to your Kyocera Laser Printer. The quick fix for this is to run the following commands under command prompt.
wusa /uninstall /kb:5000802
wusa /uninstall /kb:5000808
Wait for the first update to uninstall before running the second command. It is also recommended to pause Windows updates by clicking the “Pause Windows Updates” button in Windows Update Settings. Hopefully a fix is not far away!

We disconnected battery and inspected logic board under microscope. 3 points of corrosion were cleaned and the surrounding area re flowed.
Test results were that the board would then beep 3 times, this is relating the the Macbook memory. We re-flowed all 4 Memory chips and replaced one as it showed signs of corrosion underneath pads and on the sides.

Posted in Repair Blog - Written by Grant Philipps on November 24, 2020So its seems Telstra/Bigpond have just released a firmware update to some Routers/Modems which turns on a feature that is causing customers grief. In the observed cases the Windows 10 computer will start normally and connect to the pre-configured wireless network and suddenly display a Blue Screen with a Watchdog Violation
In all 3 cases the solution has been the following: Logging into the Router/Modem, selecting Advanced and then locating the 2.4Ghz Wireless Settings. In here you should find a settings called PMF (Protected Management Frames). Disabling this feature, save and restart the router will fix your problem.
Microsoft have released a Windows 10 Update that is not playing well with some printers, mainly Brothers. If you’ve experienced issues please follow this link to correct the issue: https://www.brother.com.au/en/contents/faq-windows-10-update-print-issue-june-2020

Posted in Blog, Site Updates - Written by Grant Philipps on March 24, 2020Windows 7 Support ended on 14th January 2020 but was does this mean?
If you continue to use Windows 7 after support has ended, your PC will still work, but it will become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses because you will no longer receive software updates, including security updates, from Microsoft.
We can upgrade your Windows 7 Operating System to Windows 10 at any of our 4 Gold Coast shops. How long does it take? We can normally have you upgraded within a few short hours.
